Diane Aeschliman comes to us after teaching at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Art in Connecticut. Her teaching methods are based on the “gesture drawing” style she was introduced to during her own studies. Diane’s method of simplifying the structure of the skull and building the specific features over it, helps to clarify the process of portrait painting. You will watch this very exciting process as she develops the drawing of the skull and merges the features of her model, Jean, to produce a finished portrait. This is the first of Signilar’s series on basic drawing and painting designed to help artists improve their skills and achieve their goals in portraiture.
